Nickel by Bukoya-Star Nickel by Bukoya-Star
Here's another one of my struggle of "Path to Originality" where I do my best to become original. After the large about of critiques, comments, pencil scribbling, erasing, tablet smashing and arms flailing, this is what I managed. Again critiques are always welcome, gimme ur best criticism.

Okay, first I'm going to rant a bit because it seems people are still going on about how this looks too much like Lackadaisy. Do you think that :icontracyjb: is the first person to draw an anthropomorphic animal with large, anime-style eyes? Did she invent this art style? NO! Certainly her art is very recognizable, but nothing in this world is unique. Anything that looks unique is a conglomerate of other styles and influences. Artists grow and become better by adopting techniques from other artists, which increases the quality of art as a whole. The same is true for every human discipline. Most scientific discoveries are made due to the emergence of new methods/tools of measurement. Besides, if Tracy didn't want people to draw like her then she wouldn't have made 3 lengthy tutorials ([link], [link], [link]) on drawing Lackadaisy style characters! If you were to disregard every piece of art that's similar to another, you'd be left with the first cave painting and nothing else.

Okay! That's the end of my rant. On to the actually art itself:

Dovel has certainly had an upgrade in terms of cuteness from the shortened legs and the bigger tufts of fur here and there.

It's reminiscent of your style of drawing Pokemon, so I'm sure a lot of your watchers will instantly recognize this as one of your drawings.

My favourite drawing is the one where Dovel is running with bread in his mouth. You did a really good job of drawing the shadows on his dress shirt. You can also see the pads on one of his hand-paws and a foot-paw which somehow make the drawing even cuter.

Please keep up the good work and I'm glad you weren't discouraged from all the criticism :D
