MorningStar - Magic by Bukoya-Star MorningStar - Magic by Bukoya-Star
During this comic, I'm learning a TINY bit of originality, it's.... not progressing as much but it's still progress.
And I can't find a good color other than this brown overlay color. And this is pretty early stuff so I still have much to learn orz. Originality is hard. Tell me what you guys think too or have any suggestive or criticisms and such. ummm.... yah...
Also when i first see the thumb trick, i was totally tricked, lol
------edit------
one can say that copying an art style improves a person somewhat? also, I'm currently copying *tracyjb for some of these practices. Sorry, I'm not good at explaining myself

I'm going to be harsh and I apologize. These may be your original characters, but the character style, the tone and the arrangement of the panels belong to a different artist. This resembles lackadaisy to the degree that I thought it was a new lackadasiy comic when I saw the thumbnail. There is nothing here stylistically that you can claim for yourself and is therefore utterly unoriginal. Being original isn't "hard" when you don't precisely copy the aesthetic of another person. There are hundreds of anthro-cat comics on the web. They are all different looking. This looks EXACTLY like lackadaisy. If you really want this to develop into something you can put your name on, you need to not copy other people's styles, or at least blend multiple styles into something new. Lackadasiy is far too popular for anyone to be fooled that this is original. Unless you drastically change how you present these characters, this will be dismissed as a lackadaisy ripoff.

I personally feel that I like this comic very much. Although, I must also comment that you ought to rearrange the panels so you're not too close to Lackadaisy?

Although putting that aside, this is a very pleasing layout. Your detail is amazing, and I can see you've put a lot of effort into this.

One thing I could comment on is the style of your cats. They generally look the same, like as if they're of the same breed but different colour. Perhaps you'd like to ass some fluff to some of them, or changing the face shapes a bit more drastically to make it seem like all these cats aren't related? I might suggest going to google, just type in "Cat breeds" and a whole list should show up. You could study the different features of different breeds and make your cats all look different. You could also add more stipes and spots to your cats.

I particularly love your shadowing, I find it extremely realistic. It's something few people can achieve. Kudos!

Overall, this is a very pleasing artwork, it is comfortable for the eye to glide along, the monochromatic colour scheme is pleasing and the comic storyline is funny. Very good!

I still believe the girl in the audience on the far right is absolutely gorgeous. No, for real though.

LOL That is a hilarious parody of the crew xD Big fan of Lackadaisy for years and seeing them as Pandas is rather hilarious!

I'm inpressed in your later drawings how well you come super close to her style! She is queen of slapstick with this guy xD
I can't wait to see what you parody next now that you seem to be doing the kid versions xD

Pretty nice. A little black on the humor side but it's no problem, it's actually a good thing if you ask me.

There's no shame in copying a STYLE so long as you aren't copying the pictures themselves. Sure, a copied style won't get you far into your own thing, but it's good practice for learning new techniques, and most people begin a style by copying at least some aspects of another style before slowly morphing it into their own as they gain comfort with it. I think you've done well on these, though I honestly did prefer the style you used with the Pokemon and ponies.
